National Bank contributes to Destination Youth initiative

Thanks in large part to the support of National Bank and its donation of $45,000 over three years announced last May, the Destination Youth outdoor recreation space at the Cartierville Y was inaugurated on September 27, 2012.

The YMCAs of Québec will be using this generous donation to further the development of their community programs. The money will also help fund National Bank Leadership Scholarships to encourage the development of leadership in our youth.

Destination Youth: offering more to the community’s youth
The Cartierville Y centre opened its doors in April 2010. With the goal of creating an outdoor space and program especially designed for young people, the Y subsequently launched a fundraising campaign to finance its Destination Youth project.

This initiative includes the creation of an outdoor recreation space, a scholarship program for young lifeguards and outdoor activities at Camp YMCA Kanawana.

The Destination Youth program will provide an opportunity for hundreds of young people to develop their social skills—such as leadership, teamwork and friendship-building—while encouraging them to adopt an active lifestyle.
