National Bank Serves it up Big for Rogers Cup in Toronto, 2012 Edition

National Bank returns for the second year as presenting sponsor of Rogers Cup, taking place in Toronto from August 4-12, 2012. With an exciting line-up of activities for families and tennis fans, all are welcome to visit the National Bank Hub at the Rexall Centre. Along with interactive activations, National Bank will have bank machines set up for easy access to cash for guests.

On the Ball (daily)
As part of National Bank’s On the Ball program, tennis fans can put their old tennis balls to good use. On the Ball re-purposes the simple tennis ball to help make learning environments more conducive to concentration, where the balls are placed on the legs of grade school students’ chairs to eliminate screeching seats. For every 24 used tennis balls donated, National Bank will give guests three brand new balls.

National Bank Big Serve (daily)
National Bank invites guests to get a piece of the action themselves. Adults and children alike are invited onto National Bank’s mock court to serve for prizes, including bracelets, tennis ball piggy banks, lunch bag coolers, and more.

National Bank Day (Thursday, August 9th)
Canada’s financial institution takes over the Rexall Centre on National Bank Day, distributing over 15,000 fans to help keep spectators cool throughout the day. A chance to win a million dollars will be given out on the evening of National Bank Day. This past June, downtown Torontonians guessed the number of tennis balls in an enormous eight foot canister (see right). The two closest guesses will be taking the Rogers Cup Centre Court, serving to win $1,000,000. A multitude of targets – each with its own value – will be placed on the court for the contestants to hit; one of which will reveal the big prize.

War Horse (Thursday, August 9th)
The National Bank Hub will host a fun scavenger hunt for the youngest guests at Free Family Weekend and the winner will receive the ultimate prize. As the presenting sponsor of the hit play, War Horse, National Bank is bringing the famous horse puppet, Joey, to the Rexall Centre to take the scavenger hunt winner on a ride.

Roger’s Cup LIVE! (Thursday, August 9th and Friday, August 10th)
For those who are unable to make it to the Rexall Centre, but still want to join in on all the action: join us for Rogers Cup LIVE! at the bank’s new flagship location in the financial district, 121 King Street West.

The festivities will include a live, large-scale video broadcast, interactive giveaways, including tickets, and a mini-tennis court and smash cage to practice your best shot. Amongst the daily activities, the bank will also host a “Taste of Tennis”, including a complimentary lunchtime barbeque catered by local hotspot, Earls Restaurants, on Thursday and ice cream sampling on Friday. Rogers Cup LIVE! runs from 9am-5pm both Thursday and Friday.
